Lincoln left Berkshire last week when he stepped down as both captain and player with the county he first represented in 2012 and will now play in the NCCA Cluberly Championship Eastern Division for the first time having joined Staffordshire.
During his time with Berkshire Lincoln became a mainstay of the side which won 12 titles across the formats between 2018 and 2022 and scored more than 4,300 runs for them including four centuries.
Lincoln, who played for Middlesex and Kent, is Staffordshire’s third signing for the new season which gets underway on April 26 following all-rounder Ollie Walker and pace bowler Sam Keeling-Wright who have joined from Herefordshire.
Lincoln will also be swapping sports having spent part of his winter playing football as goalkeeper for Bognor Regis Town in the Isthmian League.
Former Staffordshire batter Dave Cartledge will be another familiar face in new surroundings having joined Shropshire as their new team manager.
Cartledge also coached Staffordshire and was their Director of Cricket before stepping down in 2023.
Shropshire will start the season with former Worcestershire batter Tom Fell leading the side as captain Charlie Home has been ruled out for three months with a broken finger which he sustained in a pre-season net session.
