Berkshire will have captain Andy Rishton back at the helm when they face Wiltshire in their NCCA Cluberly Championship Western Division One match at Henley starting on Sunday.

The experienced all-rounder missed the draw with Devon at Blundell’s School two weeks ago but returns for the first Championship match at the Brakspear Ground in ten years.

Rishton is one of three changes Berkshire have made with batter James Isbell returning and off-spinner Sulaiman Akhtar a potential debutant.

Wiltshire have included Warwickshire left-arm wrist spinner Jake Lintott in their side for the first time this season and for his first Championship appearance since 2022. Lintott, who had a spell on loan with Kent earlier this season, was a regular in Warwickshire’s Metro Bank Cup campaign but will be leaving Edgbaston at the end of the season.

Lintott is one of three changes to the side beaten inside two days by Oxfordshire with Sam Freestone returning and his fellow seamer Archie Pascoe called up for his first Championship match of the season.

Devon currently lead the Western Division One table by 22 points but, as they sit out this round of matches, there could be a new leader on Tuesday evening.

Berkshire would need to take the maximum 24 points against Wiltshire to have any chance of displacing Devon while Oxfordshire could also finish this round of matches as leaders although their stay there would be brief as their home fixture against Herefordshire is their final match of the season.

Oxfordshire are missing left-arm seamer Will Rogers who played in the victory over Wiltshire but has signed a short-term contract with Derbyshire until the end of the season.

Seamer Oliver Armstrong, all-rounder Sravan Konidena and 15-year-old batter Evan Cowley come into a 12-man squad but Julian Laird is unavailable and Hayden Rossouw misses out through injury.

Herefordshire welcome back teenage batter Henry Hardinges, who made a half-century on debut against Devon, along with Hasan Mahmood and Ciaran Baker-Smith as they seek their first win of their Championship campaign.

There could also be new leaders of Eastern Division One as leaders and defending national champions Buckinghamshire sit out this round of matches.

Buckinghamshire currently enjoy a seven points lead over Northumberland who complete their season against Staffordshire at the South Northumberland club in Gosforth.

Staffordshire and Suffolk, who host Cambridgeshire at Copdock, are 20 points behind Buckinghamshire but both have a further game to play next week.

Northumberland give a debut to Burnopfield slow left-armer George Stephens but are missing the injured Harry Lumsden. Wicketkeeper/batter Rory Mustard, who impressed on his debut against Suffolk, returns in place of Calum Fletcher.

Staffordshire have called up Newcastle & Hartshill seamer Joe Thorne for his National Counties debut. Thorne has already played Second XI cricket for Warwickshire and earlier this month made a rapid century batting at number ten for Staffordshire Under-18s against Buckinghamshire.

Batter/off-spinner Jack Redman makes his seasonal debut and batter Matt Morris his first Championship appearance of the summer in the other changes to the side which beat Cambridgeshire three weeks ago.

Suffolk have called up batter Ishaan Rakesh for his seasonal debut on his home ground. Rakesh replaces Freddie Heldreich but former Essex batter Feroze Khushi is again missing.

Former Leicestershire slow left-armer James Sykes makes his first Championship appearance of the season for Cambridgeshire as does Lee Thomason. Seamer Ben Clilverd returns having missed the draw with Northumberland at Sawston.

Norfolk head to Hertford for their final match of the season against Hertfordshire needing two points to overtake Lincolnshire at the top of Eastern Division Two. But Norfolk will probably need a win if they are to stay there as they sit out the final round of games next week.

Norfolk have made one change to the side that beat Cumbria last time out with Norwich all-rounder Max Brister called up for his competitive debut. Brister, who impressed in the Showcase match against Kent, replaces the unavailable Brett Stolworthy.

Hertfordshire also include a debutant in Old Owens pace bowler Jake Whickham as they seek a first Championship win of the season and third in all competitions.

Cumbria, who are 37 points adrift of Lincolnshire, host Bedfordshire at Netherfield but will be without batter Ben Walkden whose consistent form this season has secured him a rookie contract with Lancashire until the end of next season.

Captain Michael Slack replaces Walkden in the side beaten by Norfolk and seamer Louis Backhouse also returns.

Bedfordshire have included two potential debutants in Finedon Dolben and former Northamptonshire batter Shaynan Patel and Ampthill batter Rohit Mehmi.

Danyal Khalid and James Anson are recalled with Jake Tarling captaining the side in the absence of George Thurstance.

Western Division Two leaders Cornwall have made two changes for their match against Cheshire at Redruth where Ellis May will make his Championship debut. Former Kent and Sussex batter/left-arm spinner Elliot Hooper returns.

Shropshire go into their final match of the season against Dorset at Whitchurch nine points behind Cornwall but just three ahead of this weekend’s visitors.

Shropshire give Championship debuts to Wellington wicketkeeper Morgan Ward and former Derbyshire leg-spinner Connor Marshall with pace bowler Ben Roberts returning from injury. They replace Ben Lees, who is unavailable this weekend, Finn Jones, who is involved in the ECB Under-17s Super Fours at Loughborough, and Will Jenkins.

Dorset have made seven changes to the side which drew with Cheshire three weeks ago with all-rounder Cameron Basey, who played for their Under-18s earlier this season, and former Somerset Academy batter Jay Terry called up for their debuts.

There are Championship debuts for Will Chesterman, Ralph Dunne and Josiah Edy and a first appearance in the competition in two years for Matt Burton. Alex Eckland will captain the inexperienced side.
