ABOUT ncca

Faster, More Exciting, More Opportunity!

For 124 years we have been known as the MCCA (Minor Counties Cricket Association). During this time, we have seen some truly talented cricketers play county cricket, with many going on to play first class cricket. So why the name change?

The National Counties Cricket Association, (NCCA) is more than just a name change. Besides a name that better reflects the talents and importance of everyone involved at this level, the structure of games has undergone a transformation that will see less 3-day championship matches and more T20 and 50-over trophy games. An exciting time for spectators and aspiring cricketers’ who might otherwise struggle to commit to the lengthier games.

Zain Ul Hassan is a top order batsman who can also bowl some handy first or second change seamers. Having performed for the Midlands U15s at Bunbury in 2016, and then gaining selection into the Midlands U17 team for the Super 4’s competition in 2017 he progressed to play for Worcestershire 2nd team. Having been involved in Herefordshire’s senior side for a year now, the all-rounder has also made his List A debut for Worcestershire in a tour match against the West Indies A team. With a winter in Australia now under his belt, NCCA side Herefordshire have hopes that the left-handed batsman will continue to progress with them. . . . . . #risingstar #Cricket #Cricketer #starplayers #Herefordshire #cc #Worcestershire #countycricket #englandcricket #cricketfamily #cricketfans #cricketlove #cricketstories #sport #nationalcountiesca #instacricket #cricketgram #ncca

Alex Russell has been a consistent performer for NCCA side Herefordshire at senior level in all formats for the past two years. The 18-year-old leg spinner has also played for Gloucestershire 2nd X1 squad and was involved in the Gloucestershire squad for the game against Australia A. Having been a consistent performer in county age groups and earning an Academy contract with Gloucestershire, he performed well on tour with the county in India, with returns of 4/11 and 4/21 in two of the matches. Having also trained with England U19s, his attacking nature and understanding of the tactical side of the game leave the NCCA side with high hopes for 2021. . . . . . #risingstar #Cricket #Cricketer #starplayers #Herefordshire #Gloucestershire #cc #countycricket #englandcricket #cricketfamily #cricketfans #cricketlove #cricketstories #Sport #nationalcountiesca #instacricket #cricketgram #ncca
