ABOUT ncca

Faster, More Exciting, More Opportunity!

For 124 years we have been known as the MCCA (Minor Counties Cricket Association). During this time, we have seen some truly talented cricketers play county cricket, with many going on to play first class cricket. So why the name change?

The National Counties Cricket Association, (NCCA) is more than just a name change. Besides a name that better reflects the talents and importance of everyone involved at this level, the structure of games has undergone a transformation that will see less 3-day championship matches and more T20 and 50-over trophy games. An exciting time for spectators and aspiring cricketers’ who might otherwise struggle to commit to the lengthier games.

16-year-old Joe Philips made his senior Cornwall debut this summer, scoring 34 off 79 balls, having played through the age groups for the NCCA side. A strong Bunbury Festival at U15 level put him firmly on the radar, with Gloucestershire signing him up into their academy. He will no doubt be looking to further impress and push towards a senior county debut soon. Definitely an exciting one to watch 👀 . . . . #risingstar #cricket #cricketer #cricket🏏 #ncca #nationalcountiesca #countycricket #onetowatch #star #player #cricketlife #cricketnews #cricketlove #cricketfans #cricketworld #englandcricket #englishcricket #cornwall #instacricket #cricketgram

Lewis Goldsworthy has played for Cornwall from the U10’s through to the senior team. During his rise to prominence, the 19-year-old was picked up by Somerset Academy whilst continuing to play for his home county. The right-hand batsman whom also bowls slow-left arm, played a key role with England U19’s in their 2020 World Cup efforts, and made his senior Somerset debut at the back end of the summer in the T20 competition. He’s already registered a top score of 38no with the bat and taken 5 wickets at an average of just over 17 in his three matches to date. . . . . . #risingstar #cricket #cricketer #cricket🏏 #cricketnews #cricketfans #cricketlove #countycricket #firstclasscricket #nationalcountiesca #englandcricket #englishcricket #ncca #cricketfamily #batsman #somerset #t20 #topscore #cornwall #instacricket #cricketgram #cricketworld

Jack Davies scored 127no in the NCCA one day final in 2017, and since then has been making heads turn at Middlesex Cricket. The 20 year-old wicket-keeper batsman made his T20 debut and first class debut for Middlesex in the summer of 2020, and looks set to become and established member of their professional squad. Davies has already shown that he can hold his nerve on the big occasion, batting throughout the innings to help Berkshire win the championship in 2017. These attributes will no doubt signal a big future in the game and he’s one to keep your eyes on. . . . . #risingstar #cricket #cricketer #wicketkeeper #batsman #ncca #countycricket #nationalcountiesca #cricketnews #cricketfamily #cricketfans #cricketlove #cricket🏏 #cricketworld #player #berkshire #firstclasscricket #englandcricket #t20 #middlesex #instacricket #cricketgram
