National Counties XI to Face Jersey in European Championship Champions Week

National Counties XI will face Jersey in their first match in Champions Week of the Dream 11 European T10 Championship in Spain on Monday October 16 (5.30pm) 

National Counties qualified for Champions Week by winning Group E with a 63 runs victory over Switzerland in Wednesday’s decider at the Cartama Oval near Malaga. 

They will now join Netherlands, who beat National Counties in the final 12 months ago, plus the five other group winners in Champions Week. 

The Group F winners will not be known until Saturday with Germany, Norway, Portugal Scotland and Luxembourg in contention for the last place in Champions Week. 

National Counties, who are competing in the 31-nation competition as England XI, will play two matches on Tuesday, the first against the Group F winners at 1pm followed by Netherlands at 7.30pm. 

Two more matches follow on Wednesday with Italy at 10.30am and hosts Spain at 3pm with the final match in the round-robin coming against Ireland on Thursday at 10.30am. 

The final placings in the group will determine Friday’s line-up which features three qualifying matches and the final at 7.30pm under the Cartama Oval floodlights. 

National Counties won the inaugural European Championship two years ago and have won six of their seven matches this year with the sole defeat coming against Switzerland in a qualifying match on Wednesday. 

Spain, Jersey and Ireland all qualified for Champions Week without losing a game. .
