Double Washout for National Counties in European T10 Championship

National Counties XI suffered double frustration at the Dream 11 European T10 Championship in Spain as both their schedules matches on the second day of Championship Week were abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The rain, which forced the abandonment of National Counties’ match against Scotland on Tuesday at an early stage of proceedings continued overnight and forced the abandonment of Wednesday’s opener against Spain at the Cartama Oval near Malaga before the scheduled start.

The rain did not relent, turning the Costa Del Sol into the Costa Del Lluvia, and forced the abandonment of the Netherlands v Scotland match then National Counties’ second match of the day against Germany.

National Counties are again representing England at the 32-nation Euros of cricket, and are defending the title they won for the second time in three seasons 12 months ago.

The weather forecast for the last three days of the competition is much more encouraging with National Counties facing a double-header against Germany then the Netherlands on Thursday.
