National Counties Cricket NCCA T20
Game 1: 11:00am
Herefordshire won the toss and elected to bat. They set off at a frantic pace, scoring at more than 10 an over with Zain Ul Hassan scoring 47 from just 27 balls. After Jacob Lintot had removed both openers the run rate fell drastically and the Herefordshire innings closed on 153 for 6 with Arthur Godsal taking 3 for 22.
The Wiltshire reply started at a similar frantic pace with Jacob Lintott 38 and Jake Goodwin 28 putting on 76 runs before the first wicket fell. Wadworth Man of the Match, Ed Young, 27 not out, saw Wiltshire home in an unbroken 5th wicket partnership of 54 with the impressive Ben Draper 34 not out as Wiltshire took their total to 155 for 4 with 16 balls to spare.
Game 2: 2:30pm
Yet again Herefordshire won the toss and once again elected to bat first. This time the pace was considerably slower and wickets fell at regular intervals thanks to more excellent catches from 7 different fielders. Arthur Godsal took another 3 wickets – 3 for 21 - with Ed Young 2 for 13. Five batsmen got into double figures, but none got past 20 and Wiltshire were able to keep in control as they restricted Herefordshire to 131 for 8.
Jake Goodwin 21 and Jacob Lintott 22 once again made a good start but it was a matchwinning unbroken partnership of 78 between Wadworth Man of the Match Ed Young 41 not out and Neil Clark 31 not out that eased Wiltshire to another comfortable victory. Wiltshire posted 132 for 3 with 25 balls to spare. Skipper Ed Young led by example with 68 runs without losing his wicket. A very successful day with plenty of positives to take into next weekends fixtures with Devon and Cornwall
