ABOUT THE NCCA
A spotlight for emerging players.
The National County Cricket Association—formerly Minor Counties—is the pinnacle of recreational cricket and the stepping stone for talented players into the first-class game. With three formats: 50-over, T20 and 3-day Championship, players can showcase their skills in front of an ever-growing fanbase.
We aim to be the UK's most-watched competitive recreational sports league, just beneath the first-class game. This mission will strengthen our support base and increase the number of eyes on our emerging players, giving them opportunities for first-class contracts.
But we're more than just a National Counties cricket competition. We have strengthened the women's game, sending our England-XI representative team to compete in the ECC-W competition in 2023 and 2024. With 35 million viewers, we've enabled progressive opportunities for our female players beyond the domestic game.
We've stretched the men's game even further, in addition to our playing program, all National Counties play games against First Class opposition a various times of the season. These games aim to drive further awareness for cricket in National Counties, generate revenue for the Counties and host clubs and showcase the quality of our players.
It has never been a more exciting time to be an NCCA player. With many opportunities for both men and women to play and develop, there have never been more eyes on the competition. We're providing excellent opportunities for commercial partnerships and, more importantly, facilitating the pathway to professional contracts for our best players, domestically and abroad.
