2019 saw the emergence of two rising stars for the Welsh National Counties side.
Andrew Gorvin announced his entrance to NCCA cricket in the final two games of the championship campaign taking 12 wickets at 17.75 in addition to chipping in with a handy 73 in the lower order against Dorset. 23-year-old Gorvin (originally from Havant) has settled in Cardiff after finishing undergraduate study and remains part of Cardiff MCCU into his post graduate studies. Gorvin skippered South Wales Premier side St Fagans to the league title in 2019 and looks set to turn some more heads in 2021.
Youngster Ben Kellaway is also ‘one to watch’ for Wales as he continues to push hard for a career in the game. The 16-year-old off-spinning all-rounder recorded a highly impressive 60 with the bat against Dorset in 2019. Kellaway, originates from Chepstow and has enjoyed an industrious last few years with a string of strong performances at the ECB Bunbury Festival, and has secured a place on the Glamorgan academy. Ben attends Clifton College and will be pushing hard to start 2021 strongly.
