NCCA Spin Twins Causing a West Country Pile Up

NCCA Spin Twins Causing a West Country Pile Up

Jack Leach, the former Dorset spinner and Dom Bess from Devon, have found themselves not only battling for the no1 spin slot within the Test team, but have also been vying for a slot at their first class county of Somerset.

Both products of NCCA development pathways, the spin twins have both had an impact at full international level over the past 18 months. Slow left-armer Leach with some excellent bowling spells against the Aussies last summer, along with ‘that innings’ supporting Ben Stokes, whilst regularly cleaning his glasses and etching himself into international folklore. And this summer Bess has come to prominence with both ball and bat in the summer red ball series.

And with the news of Bess’ departure from his contract at Somerset earlier this week, clearly there was not enough space for both players to be at the same county.

It’s great to hear that Bess will be joining Yorkshire on a new four-year contract and we look forward to seeing both men continue to prosper in the coming years.
