Lewis Gregory picked for England 30-man squad

Lewis is one of only two Englishmen currently to have taken a wicket with their first ball in international T20 cricket, against New Zealand in 2019. No small feat for a man whom came through the ranks at NCCA side Devon.

Present throughout the age groups with Devon, he made his senior debut in the NCCA Championship in 2008. At this stage coming onto Somerset’s radar, the all-rounder combined Devon duties with increasing opportunities to play for Somerset’s 2ndX1.

Now in the England U19 set up, a number of impressive performances at international age group level as well as for Somerset 2nd’s earned him his List A debut against Pakistan.

He now has 86 first class matches to his name, claiming 264 wickets and scoring nearly 2,500 runs. With a batting average and bowling average at similar levels in both first class and list A cricket, Lewis is a true all-rounder.

At the age of 28, inclusion in the England senior 30-man squad this summer augurs well for more international appearances, for the man from the South West. Another great NCCA story!
