Cumbria's Rising Stars

This week we take a look at two players from Cumbria CC who have been involved with the NCCA side since the age of 16, celebrating many successful performances along the way.

Sam Dutton has come through the Cumbria pathway to establish himself as a regular member of the senior team in all formats. With a championship top score of 116no he has appeared in 17 Championship games. The right-handed batsman has also played in 7 Trophy games and 12 T20s at senior level for the NCCA side, having played U17 cricket for Cumbria. His performances have attracted attention leading to the selection and representation of the Unicorns in past seasons, as well as playing for Northamptonshire at 2ndX1 level.

Michael Slack has represented Cumbria at U17 level, as well as playing for the Durham Academy. The right handed all rounder has gone on to appear in 25 Championship matches for the senior NCCA Cumbria side, with best batting performance being 96, and a best bowling tally of 5-29. His all round skills have seen him selected for 6 Trophy games and 4 T20 matches also at senior NCCA level, as well as putting in regular performances for club side Carlisle.
