We continue to celebrate our rising stars through the NCCA sides. This week we take a look at two young players from Bedfordshire.
Kashif Ali has played for Bedfordshire age groups from the Under-15s and has put in some dominant performances now for the senior NCCA side. Notably a knock of 116 against Cambridgeshire in September, backed up with two wickets from his quick leg breaks. The 22-year-old right-handed batsman has also got himself on the radar of several first-class counties, having played 2ndX1 cricket for Kent, Essex and Nottinghamshire. In 2019 he scored two centuries for Nottinghamshire 2’s, as well as 64no against Lancashire, auguring well for the future.
Gus Miller is a talented all-rounder, who made his senior Bedfordshire debut at the age of 17 in a game against Northumberland. Having played for both Oxfordshire and then Bedfordshire age group sides, the batting all-rounder came onto the radar of Northants, who have included him on their academy programme. Injury disrupted his 2019 season, but this regular contributor with both the bat and ball clearly has a high potential future.
